No one in engineering refers to this as an F-body. Just a connection to the past. Zeta is the architecture. F-body was the old school architecture nomenclature. A (Celebrity), B (Caprice/Impala), etc. There are only a few cars left using the old A, B, E, F, G, H, J, K, etc. designators

Just curious, but what other cars, besides the Camaro and Firebird were built on the previous F-body platform?
I mean the 1993-2002 chassis...

for the most part no. mainly parts for 3.6 engine. 6.2 not many pieces have the price. body pieces, interior trim all those say list price N/A. there is no master price list in the catalog. i've called in a few numbers to TRACS an it says "future part not yet available" or "requires special handling".

It was a unique chassis, built in Ste. Therese, (4th Gens anyway - 2nd and 3rd Gens were built elsewhere, but maintained the individuality of their chassis) and were dedicated specifically to the Camaro and Firebird. No sharing of that platform ... perhaps another factor that contributed to its cancellation after the '02 model year. Oh... and FWIW, I believe the 5th Gen car will have an "F", somewhere in the VIN! Best regardSS, Elie
