Knee surgery

Survived ACL reconstruction yesterday. No driving until at least the 11th :(. Start pt Thursday (actually did some tonight with my wife as she is a pt). So far so good I am even walking with crutches on day 1

Good luck and do what the dr's tell ya. I had arthroscopic left knee surgery in Sept and was back to work in 2 weeks. Did 100% what that dr. suggested. Knee is 100% better than what was wrong with it and no more pain!

What happened to your knee? Does it involve arrows?

I had knee surgery just over 4 years ago and it feels so much better than before. I found the hardest part was going down a flight of stairs for the first time on the crutches, had to take a leap of faith. Work hard at the physio, it pays off in the end.........best of luck with your recovery.

Crap I don't have an incision like that

2 holes and an incision as about an inch long (haven't seen it yet).

What did you have done?

I had the surgery and its not terrible. Congrats on our recovery as the first few days suck. I would suggest you do all the stretches and therapy as it has been 4 years and I would say my knee is 95%. It would be 100% if I would have kept with the therapy. Good luck

I wish you the best and will be praying for you.

I had my ACL and MCL done at the same time. I misunderstood the tech when he described the use of the CPM machine and starting the day after the surgery I was increasing the motion by 1 degree an hour all day long. Within three days I had maxed out the motion of the CPM. On day 4 I went for my followup, and the doctor took me off crutches. He had me walking without the brace at home and with the brace everywhere else. I was driving within a week and have had a great recovery. On week 3 I went to PT and they did the tests and I mad already surpassed what the Houston Rockets team considers 27 week post op motion and strength. I am going to chalk this up to God for his healing and making me misunderstand the CPM instructions!

You will be very glad you had the surgery. I waited 4 years after my injury and am kicking myself to this day for waiting.

I didn't go with the cpm machine. Long story short all the studies and data out there show no added improvement over a 6 wk period for ACL's

I am already walking on it (with crutches) able to do toe rolls easily, and also tighten my quad and lift the knee

I have pt tomorrow and hopefully I get out of this massive brace
