Tracking down rattle from new sub install.
I had a new 12" Rockford 1100 watt subwoofer/amp installed in my trunk. It sounds great but at certain bass levels I will get a lot of rattling sounds inside of the car. I have been trying to track them down but no luck. Does' anyone on the forum have any suggestions on how to track down these rattles so I can fix them?

There's a common problem with the rear deck making noise. Do a search on here for threads.
Otherwise, I'd just climb in there with it playing and just press on panels here and there until you narrow it down.

Go here and download a couple test tones and put them on a flash drive. If you run a 10-100Hz sine sweep, you will hear which freqs are causing which rattles. Then you can play a sine wave for that specific freq and find the rattle.
The test tones are great, because you don't have other noises drowning out the rattles. |

I had the same issues, I used FatMat, not Dynamat. I got it on Amazon for 45 bucks for 25 square feet. I did the back deck, the sides, under the rear seat and both my doors, and the trunk lid. It took care of all the rattles. I have used about 40 square feet. http://www.amazon.com/FatMat-mill-Bu...eywords=fatMat

Something in my undercarriage rattles horribly. It's not my exhaust and it's not my trunk. I don't think I can fix it myself...

I sound deadened my trunk, rear deck, under back seat and sides. I only have 1 rattle under certain bass tones as you. I believe I have narrowed it down to one of the clips that is on the panel that covers the airbag. I believe its the little slide clip that mite have came undone.

I didn't do it all in one session. I did the trunk in about an hour, the doors took me about 2 hours. And the back seat and sides took me about 3 hours to do, but I enjoy working on my car and it is fun for me. So I have 3 sessions into it and it got rid of the rattles.

I have a rattle in my overhead console that is beyond frustrating. I have taken it down several times, and still cannot eliminate the rattle. I've Dynamated everything, and even used Dynaliner.
