So sorry about the Camaro but really glad it kept you safe. Yeah, definitely lay down the law with the repair place so they don't go joy riding in it. Take good care of yourself. Did you get a good check up? Make sure to follow up on any discomfort you feel. Hope it is repaired soon.

Bummer! I've noticed in the thread and another from yesterday that many people have misconceptions as far as how air bags/side curtains work. I have a background as an Accident Reconstructionist. I am not an expert on them, but I do have some training and experience with them. In short, I can tell you that most times that air bags don't deploy in a crash are because the severity of the crash didn't dictate it. Sometimes it's the lack of Delta V, momentum, etc. These are very sophisticated and generally work extremely well. I do wish the people would refrain from immediately calling for a "high powered lawyer" to instantly file suit against GM because the air bag didn't deploy on a crash, etc. That's one of the big problems with our society. All anyone thinks about is suing someone, even if they were in the wrong. I think most good traffic crash attorneys have some knowledge on how these work, and probably know better than to sue on this basis without a very costly and in depth engineering evaluation being done. Anyhow, glad you're OK and that the car can be fixed.

Me too. My soul would have died had she hit my SS a month before the big car show.

Estimate is done. $3,673.70 in damages. They gave the go ahead for the shop to start repairing her. She will be getting new OEM parts to except for the glass is coming from Safelite. So happy that she isn't totaled. They said approximately 8 days and I'll have her back. My broken heart feels a little better now.
