When you make a statement like "Don't let them tell you its not" what do you expect me to do? Bring a weapon in to the dealership? I can tell them 10 times that it's covered and still be told to wait.

I'd love to be proactive on this but the "man" who makes the calls isn't local.
I've learned that they don't want a pissed off customer in their showroom bad mouthing their service. It kinda helps.. I can make a racket when I need to..

Mine's peeling in the same spot but on the right side. Took it to the dealer, they said they would repaint, It's covered. picked up the car and it was touched up. They did paint my engine cover for free though.

Same thing on the passenger side front and rear of my car. Took to dealer tonight and they will fix Monday.

Will loosen bumpers and pull them down, sand and repaint. They're also gonna touch up some scratches/chips for my trouble. I'll take pics before and after and post.

I'm interested to see if it comes back. Anyone care to guess if this is a paint quality/application problem, or a "mechanical" problem caused by these parts rubbing or vibrating against each other?

Are only certain colors chipping/peeling or all of them?

I believe member jrhaus76 had this problem and is getting it fixed by his dealer.
That would be correct. Fixed, under warranty in two days, no questions asked. Only beef i have it there was some over spray on the car that I got right off with clay bar. Glad I had 3 coats of Zaino before the repair!

It looks good as new now, not some touch up BS. They repainted it.

Realistically, a skilled touchup job might be preferred to a repaint in that area.

Repainting looks good, but is not anywhere near the quality of factory original. How much area is repainted and where the paint is blended is always noticeable to me. I wouldn't necessarily be so eager to have them paint over MORE factory paint for a minor paint problem like that.

Really... here is the after shot. Looks perfect to me and you can not tell at all where is was repainted and I am SUPER critical. I looked at all angles in all lights (sun, clouds, flourescent...) and nothing. There is not person skilled enough to do a touch up and make it look like this.

To the OP.... for some reason you are getting stone walled. I would try to investigate further. My dealer never even saw the car. I sent him that one pic and he said bring it in ASAP to fix. How have past dealings with the dealer been? Mine is EXCELLENT, is yours a jerk off?

How much area got painted?

Also, in the first pic with the damage, it looks like the panel is pushed in a bit where they come together. Damaged, or just a weird angle?

I have no idea how much they painted and there was no damage at all in the first pic. Must just be a weird angle you speak of. It looks exactly the same now as it did when I picked it up. No difference in fitament.

Yeah, I saw that when I took the pics. If I can't get them out I'll take it back and the dealer will do it.
