Whoa...I just saw that this thread is 3 years old. Vararam must have come a long way since then. I simply installed mine the way it came. I had no issues with surging or anything related to drive-ability whatsoever. I'm glad to see that it makes more power on the dyno than other brands. The differences on real world street/strip driving would be even greater. These are the reasons I chose this particular style over an under-hood and fender style.
