I think flowmaster is generally mild steel unless it says otherwise.

Doesnt appear to be welded but, even if the system was stainless, the weld can still rust because of the material used to weld/impurities in it.

If its painted black, its probably not stainless

Mild steel exhaust is cheap but they rust. Stainless steel exhaust costs more but they last.

will the 409 stainless just develop surface rust, or will it eventually eat all the way through? either way I think flowmaster has a lifetime warranty.

It looks like there's more rust on the trailing (I think) but there's always going to be salt and sand just elements it's a never ending fight.

There is moisture in exhaust fumes, it's rusting faster on the inside. Cherry Bombs lasted me 18 months. Keep the warranty paperwork handy..BORLA BABY!!

No rust on mine. It isn't a daily driver, so not a fair comparison. Almost two years on mine.

I think the exhaust tubing is stainless but the muffler certainly are not. I had flowmasters on my old truck for years, they got rusty but are built pretty beefy so it would take a long time for them to rust through.

I have a American thunder catback on my car, no clue how long it's been on there since it came on the car when I bought it, but it's not really that rusty.
