Airaid Intake Tube - Recently CARB approved

Hi everyone,

For those trying to stay CA-legal, it would seem Airaid recently got CARB approval for their replacement intake tube, and their JR kit (which comes with a filter). EO is here: http://arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/de...o/D-609-11.pdf

I couldn't find the same part number as in the EO on Airaid's site, but they have a modular intake tube for a Camaro SS listed for $350. Seems like a lot for a tube... Any thoughts on whether this will do anything / is worth $350?

Sounds like just a free flow intake tube and a panel filter using the rest of the stock air cleaner assembly and box. SLP had a similar setup

We need a dyno test to see if this unit is worth anything.

Slp would claim their free flow tube and drop in filter was good for as much hp as a full cai.I think 10 hp. So maybe half that knowing them

Let me dig up a report on how well this performed on the gm trucks. It works

Ya, seemed crazy...I found this though (which is the part# from the ARB site) for sale through an AirAid re-seller for $119, which seems much more reasonable. http://www.airaidstore.com/Airaid_10.../ar250-914.htm

Any noticeable improvement on your truck when you installed?

I would say yes. Slightly. I did have my tuner check the parameters after adding and no adjustments were needed. It did add some noise (not a bad thing) under the good

Thanks. Even slight power for ~$120 may make sense, so good to know!
