G80 locking diff or limited slip??? The facts!!
This is the email I got from GM Training on the question of it the rear diff on the Camaro is a locker since the RPO code is "G80" like the trucks G80 locker:
"Thank you for your question concerning the all new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. You asked, “Is the limited slip differential a g80 locker? the rpo order code in autobook shows "g80" as the code for the limited slip rear differential.” Although the order code is G80, the Camaro has a Limited Slip Differential. It is not a locking differential like those found on our trucks. Thanks again for your inquiry. Good luck and good selling! The Camaro Marketing Team There you have it, right from the horses mouth!!!

My CTS has G80 and it says Limited Slip Differential on the window sticker.
Limited slip differentials are normally installed in cars. All light duty trucks equipped with RPO G80 make use of a locking differential and it not the same as used in cars. There is a huge difference in how they work. The limited slip will never completely lock up whereas the G80 in the truck will lock when one week spins 100 more rpm's and will unlock about 25mph.

I had seen a thread about this some time ago and sent in a question via GM Training to get the right answer to the question of this. You are right CTS there is a big difference in limited slip versus a locker. With the limited slip and the Traction control/Stabilitrac stability control the Camaro should hook up really nice.

That is a big relief ... was not all that keen on having an Eaton "Grenade-80" in a car I'm considering buying !!
