Credit Union "Invest in America" Program

I called the Credit Union today to go ahead and get pre-approved for my Camero purchase. He mentioned GM had approached them (the credit unions) about a program called "Invest in America". I logged in and signed up, the "Concept Camero" was actually one of the choices. So, now I have an authorization number to redeem a "vehicle discount". Of course, there is a disclaimer that dealer participation is voluntary. I am wondering what the chances are the dealerships will participate in this program where the Cameros are concerned. I have a call into my salesperson, but haven't heard from him yet.

Has anyone else looked into this?

Many people have talked about this already. I believe this gets you the supplier discount, if I'm not mistaken...

Camaro. Not Camero.

Yes, it gets you the supplier discount. But the program will likely be gone before Camaros arrive. And I believe that this is up to dealers to accept or not (I know that the supplier discount is that way) and it's nigh impossible to find a dealer willing to accept the supplier discount. Make sure you discuss this with your dealer before ordering and get the answer in writing!

This has been around for a LONG time, but it's not likely the dealerships are going to support this. I'm going to call and ask my dealer sometime this week about it. I already signed up and have my confirmation code printed out just in case.

Even if they do allow this it will only knock like $700 off of the car.

It knocks 4.5% off the MSRP. GM is allowing it on the Camaro and my dealership has said they will honor it. I already have my authorization number through my credit union, and its good until 9/09

I know Rick Hendrick Chevrolet will not honor the discount, because the demand is to high.I would be shocked if any dealers honor this at first.

For a Camaro costing $37,000 @ 4.5% it knock $1665.00, off the price of the Camaro. Even it was only $700.00 it is still money in your pocket. These days the more in my pocket the better!
Even with a base Camaro it would be $1035.00.
