I just run it of an ignition 12v source. It only come into play when the clutch is in and if I know I am not racing for a while, I just turn down the retard to 0. I have a Lingenfelter LNC2000-2SR with a CTAP.

CTAP and LNC 2000 for launch control. Push the clutch pedal down, press and release a momentary button which latches the circuit, gas pedal to floor, release clutch, latch circuit drops. The value you program on the LNC2000 determines the launch rpm. The CTAP's output feeds the LNC input for rpm activation. CTAP taps into the clutch pedal position sensor which outputs different voltages for the position of the clutch pedal. The CTAP reads the voltage. Depending upon the value you set on the CTAP, depends when the output is energized. CTAP also has a hysteresis setting. Not technically a 2 step, since it has no upper rpm limiter. The LNC2000 is also used for my timing retarder for N2O, different input on the LNC. Also, all nannies turned off by holding down the button in front of the shifter for about 7 seconds. I basically use the output from the CTAP to latch itself, along with a relay. And an led indicator to show when the CTAP output is hot.

I have the LNC-2000 using a momentary switch/button, have it where the auxiliary power outlet was.
