Borla Atak Exhaust for L99 Engine

Recently got the 2013 2SS/RS Hot Wheels Camaro, Automatic so L99 in there and want to mod the exhaust...need some advice. Looking at going with a Borla product. Atak sounds really good, more aggressive than S type and Touring. I don't plan on doing headers down the road.

Concerned about drone noise with Atak due to the active fuel management system. Some say this is an issue, others say it isn't. What's your opinions? Do I have to turn out the AFM if I go with Atak?

Also, I'm not a fan of the tips on the Borla, prefer either the stock single chrome tips or chrome duel tips. Is going with the Atak with these different tips even an option?

Any info anyone can offer would be awesome!! Thanks.

different tips are always an option take some cutting and welding. i am a big fan of the atak sound on stock exhaust manifolds.

i really like the oem npp exhaust with a mild to wild switch...dont know if youve looked into that.

some exhausts create drone some create a lot! if you like the tone and not the drone j pipes are the cure.

The ATAK drones even with AFM tuned out. If you don't want to tune, try a Corsa system, since those are engineered without drone.

Tips are easy. Just swap them to something you like better. Getting rid of AFM is not much harder. You can get a tune or, if you don't want to potentially endanger your warranty you can go with a plug-and-play Range AFM Delete module.

Do a muffler delete and get a range device. It's what I did. I am speaking from experience because I went from stock to the atak then to muffler delete. I like the sound of the delete the best, but that's my opinion

I did a resonator delete, 3" tubing from cat to X pipe, then continues 3" to super 44's.
I do have some drone, but I love the drone...its my music, and its not to loud..i can have a conversation...Ed Hanson did my exhaust in San Diego, and he put on 5-6 mufflers while it was running, and reving...maybe it was just his brand of the X pipe, but the super 44's were louder, deeper, and throatier than the rest...

I got teds can tune for the L99, and its wicked. CIA, and the vmax tb....
one note on Teds canned tunes for the L99: its also great on controlling the radiator temp. it holds at 199 no matter how hot it is! racing, street driving, freeway stop and crawl... it just sits at 199!
Of course Ted tuned out the AFM sound...that drove me nuts!
last week we saw 109 here in Redlands, and the temp still stayed at 199! GO JRE and Ted!

Have borla atak on my l99. I don't notice any drone maybe alittle around 1800-2000rpms on the highway but not bad at all. Barely noticeable

Get a dynomax exhaust or Corsa. Then if you really want to fade out drone gets Adam's AFM disable module.

Narrowed options down to either Borla S-type or Solo axle back for my L99. I know solo would be bit cheaper and from all I've read, next to zero drone but Borla is a great product too. Pros/cons of either kit? Not planning to do headers.

Drone on L99 with Borla Atak was terrible, just made it so much louder. I went with the Range V8 device to disable AFM.
