Ok guys:

Here's my report:
My floor jack was lo profile enough to slide under the car from the passenger front corner. From there I found a strong looking tie-together point on the front subframe.

After getting in the car elevated enough for jack stands, I placed the stands at corresponding points on either side of the car at frame tie-together points ahead of the oil pan.

And we're up!

Bonus nekkid LS3 pic!

So there you have it, everything went smoothly...no creasing or bending at the jack points.

not necessarily. as long as the drain port on the oil pan is at the lowest point you will be ok.

Or lower jack and allow to drain.

I would suggest using a 1/2"x6"x8" piece of wood for the jack cup as to not scratch the undercarraige.

I have changed my oil twice and use a 12"x12" piece of wood and jack car up just to rear of wheel, you will see a circular protrusion on floor. The load bearing has not indented the floorboard.

are you using a floor jack or the supplied scissor jack from the car?

the supplied jack has a notch in it that will align with the frame rail of the car as noted in the owners manual

if you are using a floor jack, post 18, second picture, the cup on the jack is white. lift the car up, and put the jack stands under the front subframe of the car. for the rear, you can lift on the diff or the rear subframe

I will be using a floor jask , i will look at the pick again when i get home. This monitor at work is small (15 inch),mine at home is 24 so hopefully i can see more.I'm just trying to be careful, with the way my luck has been going lately the car will probably fall off the stands .My motto these past 3 weeks is,if it wasn't for bad luck id'e have no luck at all.

Great pix. Where is a good place for jack stands in the back? Anyone have pictures of rear jack stand placement?
