I should have around $7000 when i comes out and my dad told me he would give me money for the down payment.

Well, i was gonna sell my 05 G35, but my wife wants to keeps it. So she gave me the cash i would have got for it, and with the money i had already put aside, i am up to about 41.5k.

I will be waiting to hear bout the top dawg edition, but basically its paid for.

Current car is paid off, I hope to bank most of my old car payment ($430/month) between now and when I take delivery. That combined with my trade-in should be well over $20k.

Who can save in this economy??? When people aren't spending, I'm not hitting my bonuses from work (based on revenue). All my bonus money is extra so over the last couple of years not too much extra money. But I'll find someway to get into a new Camaro "bumblebee". That's if the dealers aren't gouging. Might have to wait a year before demand goes down, leased cars become available or model year leftovers.

Well, of course I like the money that the OT gets me. LOL I just hate being at work more than 8 hours at a time. I worked 13 hours Saturday, then 15.5 hours on Sunday. I had the opportunity to work 16 hours on Monday, but had no desire to work another double... I figure I have to work approx 265 hours OT to Net $5000. Or 3 doubles a month. Ugh..

He made me an offer today. If, within the next 12 months I can save $5000 thru working overtime only (can't use income tax toward it) he will match that $5000 and give it to me to put down on a new Camaro.

that sounds like a good offer to me... If i were you, I would bite the bullet and work my @ss off and make him pay it out... $13,000 will likely cover about half of the cost of the car. (depending on the model...)

I'm not sure how much I'll have after Air Force basic, but once i have no housing issues, and virtually no bills, the new Camaro will be within reach...

I already worked 17.5 hours OT in the last week. Was gonna work 3 more, but someone else took it first. I think I need to work 24 hours OT a month in order to Net $5000. I think I can manage it. I'll just take it on the 2 days I work 'til 5pm anyway (I'd work OT from 5-10) so it's not a full 8hr double. And work the doubles on Sat/Sun when I get paid to basically sit and read a novel. heh

LOL Yeah.

And to add to it, my mother and stepfather told me the other day that they don't care if the 1993 Lumina Z34 I have stays at their place (it needs a transmission), BUT if I do get rid of it (sell it, give it away, tow it to a junk yard) within the next year they'll give me $1000 toward the Camaro also.

^Welcome to the site, Nightmare! 1,600 miles on an 02 SS??? Dang...I wish I could have found that when I was looking for my 02SS. Of course, it would have been a little more than I wanted to pay, but still....

If only you could hold onto it for years to come.....big collectors item.
