I love my ZL1 but it's not even mentioned when comparing it to this car in some articles.... people talk about it being 3rd place, the one article doesn't even mention the ZL1 as a contender, they compare it to the Viper, GT500 , and Corvette... this is bull crap, Chevy better up the game for the new platform and so far I'm not to impressed with the 6 Gen platform pictures!
Why, have you seen the 6th Gen Camaro in the flesh, other than the cobbled up prototype pics? How can you even make such a statement without knowing and seeing what's coming in the future car. Calm down and have faith.

Or the 500 HP 2007 GT500. Crossing the 500 HP mark was as big a deal then as the 700 mark is now

No I have just seen the pictures like everyone else from that one thread on here. It is early yet but that's why I said ' so far '... didn't impress me yet.. hopefully in time it will...
And Yes I do have faith but what I don't have is patience.

Straight line yeah it kinda sucks, stock for stock. Not so much for road course (I can't speak for the Hellcat yet) which is where I'm living at these days. So I'm fine

Well Chevy has the 650hp LT4 laying around to compete with the Gt500/Hellcat, but it will likely still be in 3rd place in terms of pure horsepower. Also the LT4 is probably hand built, and they likely would want to bring the costs down some for the Camaro. It will be interesting to see what the Camaro gets or if Chevy even intends to continue competing with the horsepower wars. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chevy ditch the ZL1 and drop the LT4 into a Z/28 replacement that is something of a compromise between the current Z/28 and ZL-1. Make it a little more streetable than the current Z/28, dominate the other pony/muscle cars on the track, and have enough horsepower to remain competitive on the drag strip.

First thing cars is going to need is a short throw shifter. You see how far he has to move that shifter. Good grief....

Well, if you want the most powerful pony car convertible, the ZL1 is now #1, since GT 500 production has ceased. Let's take comfort in that for now!

IMO. I would rather see it more competitive in the 1/4 than hp it's not that far off as it is.

Well Yes that's the idea but you need weight reduction or more HP to make it happen...
and 127 hp difference is significant!

There's already lightly modded ZL1's with less hp putting down times as quick aren't there?
