SS Owners, how much did the ZL1 Springs Lower Your Car?

How much do the ZL1 Springs lower the SS?
How is the ride after the spring swap?

ZL1 springs to lower the car? I would think it wouldn't work out. When I bought my 1LE, the dealer had two ZL1's right next to my 1LE, and the 1LE was lower. I'm positive about that, especially in the front.

Plus, the SS is lighter than the ZL1, so it likely will raise it up. Why are you thinking about ZL1 springs? May want to consider Pedders or one of the other aftermarket options instead.

If the ZL1s were sitting higher than the 1LE then the spring spacers were left in. If the car drives off the lot with those on it could cause some damage. It does lower the car because the spring is actually shorter than that of the SS, but its the exact same spring rate in front and variable in back. But the ZL1 makes up for a softer spring rate with mag ride.

No kidding? You mean the dealership messed up on dealer prep, and there were spacers that they were supposed to remove? Double-

Yeah, to make it easier to load and unload from the haulers and prevent damage they put plastic spacers on the front springs to raise the car up. Spacers that are supposed to be removed. Someone failed hard when they prepped those cars.

Well in that case, I would still be concerned with the ZL1 springs on an SS, as a lighter car will not have the same ride height as the heavier ZL1. Perhaps someone has already fitted ZL1 springs to an SS that can comment on ride height.

How much lighter is the SS compared to the ZL1? I don't believe it's a huge difference?

On the order of 250-300 pounds, at least based on early estimates. In production trim, I'm not sure.
