What Colors Did You Consider / How Long Did You Search For Your Car?

I had IOM from the start which I scored..White and SGM were on the list if IOM wasn't there.

Leading up to the 5th gen's release, I couldn't choose between IOM and Black. I wanted a color similar to Hugger Orange, but all of the photos of IOM at that time were outside pics where it looked way too red. I was turned off by it, so I figured I should just go for black and accent it with the orange I really want.

Fast forward to August of 2010, and Becky happened to have the exact car I wanted in her inventory: 2011 1SS w/ RS, Boston Acoustics, and 6-speed. And yes, black. Was delivered to my house on a rainy 23rd of September, 2010. Scary that I'll have owned the car 4 years exactly one week from now.

The day I put my order in I still had not made up my mind. It was either going to be VR with Black Rally Stripes or Black. When I got to the dealership someone had just test driven a black one. I walked around the car a couple times and walked in and ordered a black one.

Black, white, or yellow. Luckily it was a sunny day on the lot and the black reflected everything in sight. I had to have it!!!

Now for interior... I did prefer the black interior, but went with the grey/black since it kept the A pillar from getting me claustrophobic.

I just can't see how people put orders in before they even we the car.

I was on board before they even announced they would make the Camaro. The concept was on tour before the announcement was made to make the car. So, I had plenty of time to consider what I wanted, too. On Camaro5.com, I got to see what was going on with the car as it was happening. After I saw the ground effects on the site, while they were still mocking them up, I knew I was getting those. Interesting to see how the site has changed over the years.

I was fortunate enough to be in a position to order a car. I went online and built a bright yellow, 2SS, 1LE, NPP, Recaro's, and Moonroof. My first car was a yellow '69 Malibu. We painted our first car, a '68 Vette, the '73 Corvette yellow. Our 2nd Vette was a '58 and it was yellow! We painted that car red. I sold my original Garnet Red '69 Z28 in order to get my new yellow car. Red was my second choice. I ordered my car 3-3-14 and took delivery on 4-16-14, 8 miles on the clock. Drove off the showroom floor, to the gas station, and filled it up with 93 Octane. I'll never forget that awesome experience!

When I was ready to buy in fall of 2011, I wanted Red Jewel Tintcoat. Then I learned it was discontinued for 2012 and replaced with Crystal Red Metallic. I didn't like it as well. I went looking for a 2011 RJT (even contacted Becky @ Rodgers) but couldn't find one. So I stopped by a dealer and saw a 2012 1SS LS3 in white, and without a black interior (didn't like black) so I bought it.

It was easy for me.. Red or black... Didn't matter, it just had to have the things I wanted, and then the price I wanted...

I bounced between black and gray until I saw them. The black is plain to me with no depth. The metallic gray was pretty damn cool in the light. The satin black hood and black rims were fantastic accents on that color. Seeing them both helped me narrow it down.

when I bought my 2010 1LT I wanted black but Silver was the one I had the best deal on at the time. the one I eventually bought was sitting on the show room floor at a dealersip in McKeesport Pa from early December til march of the 2010. it was the year we had massive snows and I kept emailing one of there salesman asking if they still had it repeatedly and I knew they wanted to move it because there price kept going down at 500 dollar increments, so I eyed it for about 4 months til I actually picked it up. My current 2SS I picked up after perusing Autotrader one Saturday night and I noticed an SS was just traded in that day, the dealer was closed and would open that Monday for business, just happens I had the day off because of a bank holiday, was there at opening, drove my SS home about 2 hours later. was the fastest auto purchase I have ever experienced. not counting the time to test drive and and look it over the negotiations took all of a half hour and the paperwork another half hour, pretty painless. heck the purchase of the 2010 took four times longer!

So on the first 5th Gen I just wanted the car and color wasn't a big issue but when I got the SS it had to be black. both were bought used with less than 4K on the odometer

I saw a SGM on the highway one day and a few weeks later I bought one. I think its the best color. I have gotten so many compliments on the color everywhere I go. To bad GM discontinued SGM, it makes them even more rare.

Originally never knew ABM exsisted untill I saw one while eating pizza. Before that I wanted red but after I saw that I knew I had to get ABM

I wanted something a bit different from all the black, orange and yellow camaro's out there. Ordered mine in white with orange stripes, always loved the 69 pace car.
