Eventho they are all I have ever owned I'm not a big fan of GM cuz they have and keep making terrible decisions and have ruined this brand however I am a firebird/camaro guy. When they brought the camaro back I knew what car I wanted. If it didn't look so much better than the rest I might have been swayed elsewhere cuz of my opinion of gm but it look amazing so it was a no brainer. Now if only gm would quit pushing me away with stupid things like refusing to sell me a blue tooth for my LS then maybe we could start to heal this strained relationship.

Did I buy my camaro because...
It is a Camaro! * In my teens, I owned a 1968 RS and my favorite color was lime green. In fact my bedroom was painted lime green which kept mom and dad out of my room most of the time. * In my twenties, I owned a 1984 RS and my favorite color was still lime green. * In my thirties, I owned a 1979 SS and yep... lime green. * Now in my late forties, I own a 2011 SGM SS/RS that is... you guessed it; LIME GREEN! Ford and Dodge didn't offer lime green hot rods or I might have considered! Always been a Chevy man though...

I got mine because it was the only car I have ever seen that I fell instantly in love with . Never regretted it for a second.
I didn't even know at the time WTF it was , I just knew that I had to have it.

+1 vote for "styling and lines". Definitely would have bought it if it was a challenger. I would have had to think twice if it was a Gelding (Mustang). If it had never come out, I'd still be in my Silverado.

I'd never been a "car" guy...or a Ford or Chevy guy. When it came time to buy my first brand new car for some reason the one I wanted most was the Camaro (so I got a Prius, lol...long story). Not because it was a Camaro, but because the lines, and styling of it are just "nasty". I would buy a Challenger....I dig 'em. A Mustang....not so much. Not my cup of tea. If I did it all over again, I'd buy another Camaro. If I were to buy another car right now, it'd be another Camaro.

I'm not a "Chevy fanboy", but Camaros have always looked better than the Mustangs. From day one. But I've also thought that the same year Firebirds looked better than the Camaro ( EXCEPT the '69).
The Challengers look awesome to me, but the prices are out of whack. The only Challenger I would consider would be the SRT8, and those are priced in Corvette territory. For under 40 grand, the Camaro was far and away the best choice. |

DEfinitely bought it because I wanted a muscle car. But was kind of wary that it would become the "next mustang". There was definitely a buzz around town when it was one of the select few that were around. Especially where I live, all you see are v6s. It's all good though. Got a 2012 GTR on the way!

When I was a young kid in the mid-late 80s, I said I'd have a Camaro some day, even if it happened when I was 80. Well, the 5th Gen. came out, and I'm not 80, and if GM ever decides to send it to me, I'll have one. Anyway, I totally love the lines and look of the new Camaro, and I've always dreamed of having a sports car. If this car came from Ford, I'd be even happier to buy it since I come from a Ford family, but it doesn't, and I don't like the Mustang, so here I am.

Amen to that. If the new Camaro had not made it to production, I would have a Challenger SRT8 in my garage. I am a car guy, I like performance. Having said that I have nothing against Fords, Chevy's Dodges, Chryslers, etc. (Heck my DD is a 300C.)

love. my. car.

I purchased it because of the styling and bang for the buck performance-wise. I couldn't have made a better choice. I can't wait until my tires are almost bald and doing the most epic burnout ever in history. The Camaro was tested to have the longest burnout against Challenger and Mustang. As if 420lb/ft of torque didn't convince me already...
But seriously, if only the Mustang existed and it only had 300 or so HP because there was no competition, I'd probably have bought an Infiniti or BMW. Thank goodness the Big 3 turned things around and started making cars that I'd actually want to drive! Heck, I even like half of Buick's new designs, and my whole life I thought Buicks were ugly! But Cadillacs look so nice these days, if I had the extra money to buy a loaded Buick, I might as well buy a Cadillac!

Because I love the way it looks and performs, not because it's a Chevy or has the Camaro nameplate.
I'm a car guy in general. I owned a 97 Mustang GT back in the day and loved it. Hell I still love Mustangs. |

I bought the Camaro because I didn't like the interior layout of the Mustang and I wanted a 6 speed. I like how the Mustangs look on the outside. The Dodge just didn't appeal to me. I've actually always been a Firebird guy (had a 76, 90, 93, and 96) but that's not really an option anymore... :P
