rubbing feeling when turning?
Anyone experience this? I've noticed this a lot when driving very slowly through parking lots. When I make a sharp turn, I feel a very slight resistance in the steering wheel sometimes, almost as if something is rubbing somewhere.
Can't remember when this started, but it's been a going on for almost as long as I've had the car (over a year). My mods are in my sig. It doesn't appear to be a problem with the headers. I looked in that area, and there are not wear marks. I think this was happening before I had them, anyway. This doesn't appear to be a major problem...just one of those things that makes you scratch your head

Yes. When cold and turning on first roll, but not after that. Has almost gone way now at 2yrs & 5k, don't know what it was. If you find out, please post!

We had this problem on my wife's 2011 SS, during tight turns it was a low-tone rub noise ...strange as it sounds it turned out to be the differential and wasn't a surprise to the service techs either ...all covered under warranty.

A few times when backing out of the garage slowly and turning the wheel hard to the left,
I get a rubbing sound at the rt front tire. Not really worried about it.

Seems like a lot of SS owners have had complaints about their rear differential not slipping enough.

So I guess this is somewhat common and nothing to be worried about? It's more of a feeling than a sound, but I haven't really listened too closely. Could it be related to my gears?

Kind of hard to tell you it's nothing to worry about since we are on a forum. Maybe let someone else drive your car around the parking lot and get their opinion.

I thought I had some front end suspension problems for months. It first started while turning corners then after a few months it was all the time. But it turned out to be the differential as well! |

I also had the rear diff rubbing sound at slow speeds while turning.(very slow speeds) had them change the diff fluid and they put in some sort of additive. Solved the prob but after another 3 to 4k miles its back but not as bad. I'm wondering if it'll eventually just go away over time?
