My #1478 shipping is going slow. I have a separate response oaout brake dust. I also have a Red Challenger SRT8 and an auto tech friend said to disengage the ESP program. There is a button on the dash to push. This reduced my brake dust 80%. The cars with high horsepower have a tendency to constantly engage the traction control. I drive like an old lady also and still was getting extreme dust. Wheels were totally black after 100 miles. I cannot recommend due to safety issues but thought I would post info.

I did the brake burnishing at about 500 miles. 1 - 40 to 20, 1 - 60 to 20 and 1 - 80 to 10 back to back. And then drove home and let the brakes sit all night. The brake dust was tremendous the next day when I checked the wheels. I have not really noticed any difference in the braking but I have not had to really brake very hard since.

I Haven't Done The Brake Burnishing Yet - Was Told If I wanted To Really See Dust - Do The 8-to 20 to 10 With The Emergency Brake On

"OK" I Ran Her Up To 80 And Slammed On The Brakes. That Really Heated Her Up. Then I crawled In Her Back Seat An Spent The Night As I Could Not Stand To Let Her Out Of My Sight. Did I Do It Right?

Burnishing is what you want to do to carbon ceramic brakes like I had on the ZR1. You brake 60 to 0 fifty times in a row to actually change the make up of the rotor with the heat. Bedding the brakes on the camaro is moderate braking 60 to 20 mph maybe 10 times in a row(at a minimun) just to transfer some pad material to the rotor, then drive without braking until they cool. Tire Rack has an exellant write up on their website on how to do the entire procedure..

Will do some research and find a low dust pad. Here is a site that advertises low dust pads: http://www.brakewarehouse.com/brake_...rmance-ceramic
