No a dealer said 300 yesterday... I dont think there is a definite #..

Either way.... There is a sticky thread for this... lets keep it there.

Hey Steveo, It applies to all the V8's unfortunately. Mine is stuck in Canada due to it. They are claiming 300 because those are the cars that have been delivered.

I assume those cars built in the last week already have the 'fix' integrated into their trip down the assembly line? It wouldn't make sense to have to apply the fix AFTER it's been assembled if they already knew about the potential problem.

I saw a recall list with 558 Vin #'s and the highest was 6470. Mine was on it, built on 4-17 and it's not here yet. There have been a lot more V8's built than that and most on the recall list aren't on the rail shipped list. It doesn't appear that all SS cars need the recall. Hope this helps.

Still have access? I am built around that time and still undelivered as well, VIN A9104768. If you could check it out, I'd love to know for sure... although I am already pretty darn sure.

I would just zip tie the wires way from the heat if possible for the time being.
GM announced it will be the proper sheiding.

Looks like from 1244 on, the problem was fixed on the line.

Nope...I'm #3411 so not 1244 and on...remember this is V8s only so you have to see how many V8s were produced then add the number in there to get an accurate VIN of when this was fixed.

Just had my recall on the battery cable done at the dealer before I took delivery and it took roughly 20 minutes to complete the job.

what vin? I'll probably be the last one to get it fixed in Canada, being vin #6125.

Mine is stuck in Canada as well... i'm number 6890. IOM SS2/RS

My dealer isnt telling me if it was on the recall list or not, but the car was finished up just before this recall was announced, so I can only assume that's the reason it wasnt put on the rail car yet... if any one can look it up with my vin please PM me..... I'd be most appreciative.
