Interesting, i've only put it on M once and used the paddles just to try it, So your saying if i put the shifter in M mode and NOT touch the paddles it will shift on its own but just at a higher RPM even if i'm not jumping on it?

Yes, the stick shift in M position without touching the +/- tapshift will change gears automatically for you in a more agressive way. ( just like in D but higher revs and agressive) As soon as you touch the tapshift buttons + or - you are automaticaly in M (for manual) mode.

If you want to go back in S mode, just hold de + for a couple of seconds and you will see that it switches back to S mode and you don't need the tapshift to change gears anymore.

hahaha.. it only took me a month I thought the S was the car telling me to shift.. LOL. The owners manual sure isn't clear about that. It doesn't say anything about sport mode.

Don't forget to go back to S mode. I have a couple of times and then realized I was almost redlining 2nd gear. My point is, that in Manual mode, the care WILL not upshift automatically. I don't remember if it will downshift automatically or not though.

also maybe im going nuts here but in S and Manual mode the steering tightens ALOT and the turning ratios of the steering wheel shortens also i think the susption tightens as well

all i know is like i posted in another thread 90% of the time i drive in Manual Tap Shift mode i can keep my RPM below 2k most of the time seems to save on gas too

hope you all enjoy it

OH one time it payed off was i forgot my wallet at home i live 20 30 mins from my work so i slaped it in sport and went for it turned an hour drive into a 25 min drive i love sport its so epic pedels are so more better

if i just want to cruise say SCREW IT i just put it in D and go

what suprizes me though is there is no 2 or 1 gears like other automatics just P R N D M its weird IMO

Of course not. I mean what's easier than opening and doing a minute of reading from a little book with everything you want to know about your car?

Taking photos, uploading photos, typing in an obvious question and waiting hours for a response that may or may not be clear, of course.

S mode ftw

I don't think holding the + shift on the 2010 will cause it to go back to S from M, I've always had to actually use the shifter to go from D back to M (which puts it in S by default) to reset it.

I usually do all my driving in S mode, but will occasionally go to M if I'm first at a red light and want to have some fun - but honestly even then S does a better job of shifting if you just want to accelerate quickly.

Okay, I've had my car for a little over a month and 1000 miles. I did not know about this Sport mode!! I thought M mode was just to use paddle shifters.

Now I can't wait to drive and test sport mode.

Thanks!!

And to the inquiries about reading the owner's manual... yes, i have read it. In fact it's on my coffee table for easy access. However the manual doesn't mention the phrase "sport mode". After re-reading it, it does explain it, but not very directly.

Either way, I'm glad I know about it now.
