Never let the dealer prep your car. Do it yourself and tell them that you will not burn them on the survey for it . I have done it 4X so far.

The washing and waxing was taking place while I was finishing the paperwork. I finished the signing and the salesman said it was across the street still being detailed.

They didn't wash my car when I took delivery, thank goodness.
I bought a used '05 Silverado from the same dealer two years prior (and traded it back in for the Camaro). I bought it at night, in the rain. Bad idea I know, lol. When I saw it in the sunlight it had horrible swirl marks all over. I removed them myself. I don't know if the dealer did it or a previous owner but I was cautious ever since. Whenever my car makes a dealer visit for any reason I make sure to note they are absolutely not to wash it in any manner.
