Seeing that the K&N kit for the ZL1 is made from CF, it stacks up to about 3x the price of the Roto-Fab.

I have had both, unless the weight is super critical. I would go with Roto-Fab.
The K&N is real carbon fiber but I think the filter is smaller. I don't know the weight difference but it can't be that much. The hydro dipped carbon fiber looking Roto-Fab looks brighter. The main reason I switch from K&N to Roto-Fab is the K&N tube was too thin to mount my methanol nozzle in. I like the looks of the Roto-Fab better.
Hope that helps.

for an SS or ZL1? Your profile says you have an SS but you are in the ZL1 section. If you have an SS you might have better luck asking in the V8 bolt on section.

K & N make great filters, their CAI Sucks. If you look at the video of K & N doing the dyno, the HP number increase is done with the hood open. Every thing was very cheaply made. Did not last very long.
I bought a CAI from Cold Air Inductions, https://www.coldairinductions.com.
It is made in the states, they do there test with the hood closed. Very well made.

Besides the price being around $850 for the K&N , after year 2014, it is not CARB legal in CA, if you live in Ca, lol....

I had a RotoFab on my 2010 SS for 3.5 years and it worked perfectly. I installed a RotoFab on my 2013 ZL1 for 3.5 years and it worked great!

The supercharger whine is worth the price alone.

We always recommend Roto-Fab or CAI on any Camaro (smaller companies tend to have more development time in their products). The Roto-Fab sells great for us and has always brought very positive reviews. The K&N system works fine but it does have a smaller filter. On that alone I'd go Roto-Fab.

We appreciate the votes of confidence! The Roto-fab system does fulfill all of the qualities of a great intake system: The air box effectively seals to the hood, offering the advantages of a lid without reducing air box volume. Our air inlet pieces are designed to maximize flow, while performing well with your car's factory calibration. Additionally, we use very high quality hardware and produce all of our major components in-house. Feel free to PM or call us if you have any specific questions about our products!

Thanks
Michael
