I'm going to end up doing the same thing.
I dont want to go to aggressive so just the jump up to 3.45 will be enough for me

Padre swapped his stock gears for LS3, 3:45s. He also documented his track times.
He said the gears made daily driving better (especially once he got his cam), but he didn't see much of any gain at the track. 12.06 @ 114.0 mph - stock gears 12.02 @ 113.9 mph - 3:45 gears Both times corrected for DA for comparison. So don't expect much improvement at the track with them. |

When we experimented with gears at the track the 3.45's allowed the car to be in 4th longer, at higher rpms, resulting in higher trap speeds and lower ET's.

So it basically seems that if you are looking to improve et's then 3.25 to 3.45 are a waste of $. So I guess I am back to looking at LPE 3.70 gears. I have considered 3.91 but I think they might be to much gear for my auto especially with the insane 1st gear. I would definitely need slicks to get it to hook. I doubt my nt05r could hook. Also with the 3.91 I'm afraid it would shift right before the traps. Are my assumptions about the 3.91's correct?

More than likely the 3.91 will be to much gear. What's the rwhp of the car? |

I'd put the 3.45's and be done with it. You could get away with a 3.91 now but once you go FI forget about that. All you'll do is blow the tires off and cross in 5th.

Alright so 3.45 will yield minimum gains now but later on it will come into play when I go FI. Yea that's what I thought about the 3.91. Thanks all for the your advice

If you would have 3.91's and your trap speed would be 120mph. The rpm's would be 6500.
