The Beast (2SS) Woke Up!
My wife claimed the 2SS upon arrival. She lets me drive it sometimes . . . like . . . to fill the tank!
She got home Friday from her daily commute white as a ghost. She said, "Something is wrong with the Camaro (2SS M6)! The rear end went sideways on my twice! There is something wrong!" So, I sacrificed myself and took the 70 mile round trip to work in the 2SS yesterday . . . wow! If this is wrong, all that new power, I don't wanna be right! Yeah, I did the two fuse pull and let sit overnight at about 200 on the car. This "wake up" of the Beast happened around when she turned 1700 miles on Thursday . . . and no, she did not have the traction control off and did not drive any differently than normal . . . just a bunch more power out of nowhere. I am assuming this "wake up" normal. Right?

Is this common? Maybe a "Break-in" tune? It is often rumored that some cars are programmed to not give max performace during the break in period....ive never seen proof though.

Fuse pull thread:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38964 I really dislike folks getting snotty by telling new folks to search. It's not polite and makes new folks feel uneasy about posting. Just my opinion. |

I wasn't snotty at all... Snotty would have been "This has been cover a hundred times...how about searching for an answer before you post a question" Just my opinion.

It was a good question Boer. If I didn't spend as much time on here as I do looking for information, I wouldn't have known what it was either.

The fuse pull has nothing to do with VIN#'s..... It has to do what type of gas the dealership puts in the car when it arrives at the dealership. If they put any lower than 91 octane than the power loss will occur with the fuel trims. Use up all of your gas and fill it with 91 or 93 and then do the fuse pull for a couple of hours.

I wonder if they have it programmed not to give the max until over 1500 miles or something ??? Has anyone else experienced more power after 1500 or 1700 miles ?? |

My car runs fine but I doubt any dealer will put 91 or 93 octane the car.. You know how they can be, they think you'll never know the difference! |
