TH400 swap/cam only... track results!

I just got my baby all fixed up finally!!! After 2 weeks of issues I have it all sorted out, stupid poly trans mount... dont use them! I beat the piss out of it for an Hr to make sure its all good, went over everything and the DRs are mounted. Me and Little88 are hitting Byron tomorrow morn, high 57 and sunny so weather should be good. The car feels AMAZING with the th400, the 3600 stall drives very nice on the street! Way better then I thought it would, props to FTI! I totally expect to have a new PB tomorrow! I think I am the first to do a th400 swap on a cam only car, so we will see what the results are! I made 440 with the M6, ran 12.4-12.3s 115-116 before the swap.

i want a th400! damn if you dont mind me asking how much did the swap end up costing?? Does the torque converter still lock at highway speeds? Im very interested in your results as im cam only and have been going back and forth with swapping an auto

Heading out soon! No the converter does not lock on the highway. I can cruise about 65 and 2600rpms with the 3.45 gear. My speedo works, trans temp is not hooked up, I have a check engine light on right now. My traction control is still active too! I did all the labor and already had the trans, end up around 1600$ total.

You wouldn't happen to have the Part number for the TCI flexplate your running would you? I accidently bought the wrong one (non-sfi rated) when I was at Summit and I can't for the life of me find the part number I need. |

Stupid trans is short shifting itself into second early because I don't have the 12 volts running to the trans I guess. But man she's running awesome, I am able to hold 2nd as long as I want, shifting it at 6800. Need to get 1-2 worked out, might have 11.6!

Just trapped 117.7 on a 11.80 pass! 60ft was slower, I shifted 3rd at 7k! Once I fix 1-2 it's gonna pick up for sure!
