That would really tick me off if I was one of the first to order and #12 had the same priority as me!
It'll tick you off even more if you go and find out that the dealer has sequenced lot cars to priority #1 when the dealers can actually order. They can do that you know... You have to trust your dealer to do the right thing.

I wonder how soon before Feb. 16th that they will start pulling our orders from dealers. Is that what they mean by Janurary 2009 being the tentative "Consensus Period" ? Think they will just pull "xx" amount from dealers each week til they are all completed? It sure would be nice to know how they go about deciding which dealers get their orders pulled first if that's the case. Ordering from a small dealer that was only allocated 1 initially and my geographical location compared to where they are being built has me nervous about getting it before summer.

Just my opinion but your nervousness is probably well-founded. My guess from all I've read is you can basically take your dealer's allocation number and divide it into the 7 months they have "pre-scheduled". For example, my dealer with 63 I would guess would average 9 per month. Of course possible build constraints and logistics of shipping play a role also. You may be pleasantly surprised to find your car will be "earlier" than expected just because some big dealers around you are getting theirs and yours gets on the same truck to "save" shipping. It's really all a crap-shoot at this point with no "solid" word from GM on the build order.

Yeah I'm thinking I'll either get it kinda early or really late, lol. I don't wanna be the guy that's had one on order for a year and everyone else has theirs or has even bought one off the lot by then, haha

From a Corvette blog: "For those who don't know what Consensus is, it is the report that Chevy sends to their dealers showing their estimated shipments of vehicles they can order for the following month's production period.

So what does that mean? Basically it means that dealers know now how many [cars] they have been initially allocated by GM."

I highly doubt that will be the case.

Did I miss something? All the dealers had their allocation numbers months ago. Or does this mean that month's part of their total allocation?

The Camaro Marketing Team has identified several interior/exterior color combinations that are strongly recommended at launch:

Camaro LS.....GCN (Victory Red)...AFA (Black)
Camaro 1LT...GAN (Silver Ice)......AFC (Black)
Camaro 2LT...GAQ (Red Jewel).....AFH (Beige)
Camaro 1SS...GBV (Cyber Gray)...AFK (Gray)
Camaro 2SS...GBA (Black)...........AAY (Inferno Orange Accent)

I believe these color combos will be the first of each trim level to be built. Why else would GM recommend them in their Official Ordering Workbook?

Good question... However, it was written in another thread that they could change exterior colors pretty much at will as they roll down the assembly line and not miss a beat with today's technology...

^^^Makes sense, and GREAT....bodes well for my black/black being built early on, the tons of other factors aside, of course.

Wonder how that affects (or not) my Red Jewel with the extra color stage...

Well, that is in reference to the Corvette which didn't have the same release as the Camaro. But my guess is that when they do the January consensus (maybe suring the IDL), they will let dealers know what cars they should plan on receiving for the first month.

I'm thinking that the allocations that are out now are low-ball guesstimates for the first 7 months of production whereas consensus is pretty much guaranteed and much more accurate.

Yea, they said they could paint a single car rainbow colored if they felt like it.
