They are welded to the pipe before each muffler but I believe adjust at the very end.

P.S. IndeedSS1 did you just call up Solo-Performance and ask for some J-Pipes?
Kills drone about 400 rpm's above and below the target. How long are you driving below 1600 rpm's anyway. Trust me, it's a world of difference.

The ends are the length adjustable portion. The clamp near where the pipes get welded are for positioning.

Yes I just called Steve (goingsolo2) and let him know what I needed. Since I already had the MachX, the J pipes fit up very nicely.

Couple other things I've noticed. There seems to be less decel popping and cold startup may be a bit quieter.

Never really Those are the perfect ranges for highway speeds anyways.

I added J-Pipes to my Solo Mach-XL about 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. I added TSP headers at the same time and honestly at 70-80 cruising on the interstate my car is quieter now than when it was stock. The J-Pipes make a huge difference and totally reduce drone.

My car screams at WOT but purrs when taking it easy. Awesome addon and worth every penny!!

The way these let exhaust into the J pipes(or not?) any power loss or loss of response?

The J-pipes do not have any effect on performance whatsoever, it onle has an effect on the drone

Having mine fabbed up this week similar in shape to Solo's at my muffler shop. Will make them adjustable but initial set at 28" as my drone is in the 1550-1800 range. Will do pics when done. Hope they work!

J-Pipe Mod.

I just now saw this thread and have ordered the retro-fit kit. I'm so excited about this. The wife and I both have sensitive hearing, I'm sure this will help!

My wife really notices the difference on the hiway as do I.

Idle seems to be about the same.

Cold startup, the initial engine turn over in the garage. The wife says it sounds about the same to her in the house. To me it sounds quieter in the car.

When I drive in/out of the subdivision while the wife is at home, she says it is quieter, but she can still hear me.

I got the car back today with the fabbed up J pipes set at 28" length and no drone!. Thanks to Steve and all the input here on the site I can keep my ears from hurting after 20 minutes! Car did get more quiet and the decel popping reduced even more to only a bit louder then stock, idle is nice though. My system is similar to the Solo with the resonated x pipe I have and the outlaws are basically a tuned muffler delete. Its amazing how quiet the X pipe and J pipes can make the ,even with the outlaws!Car is almost to quiet! But got used to how loud it was I guess. Only thing to do is delete the stock resonators as they wont be needed to get a bit more sound, didnt think I would have to say that!

I have the Solo Cat Back with J Pipes on my vert. I kept thinking my car was too quiet also. It sounds great and deep at startup, but once in it, it was so quiet. Then my wife took it out one day, and I couldn't believe it was the same car. As she was driving away, it was much louder than I thought it was from being inside of it. Have a buddy drive while you are outside of the car and see what you think then!

I'm considering adding high flow cats for sound and performance, but the nice thing with Solo is that the high flows will make idle a little louder, but WOT wil be a hoot!
