where is the logic?
Do any of you guys understand this? My dad will not allow me to get a camaro and when i ask him why he wont say anyuthing but he says he will be fine with getting me a v8 mustang or bmw but he wont get me a camaro can any ione see the logic?

There is no logic behind it, but if i were you i would take what he is offering before he changes his mind. Although it pains me to say it, take the mustang.

what I would do
If I were you I would make an attempt to go by a Chevy dealer and see if he is willing to take one for a test drive with you.Then go to the ford dealer and test drive a mustang.Both of you should come away with an impression of both.But if you cant sell him on the camaro go for the mustang and maybe you can trade it in on a z28 later.Just a thought?Good luck.But when I was young I purchased my first car a 1955 ford two dr. with $100.00 hard earned bucks.1963 was the year,and I was happy to have it.

Well, it probably depends on what Camaro and what Mustang you're talking about. LT vs SS is a big difference. So is 2010 Mustang vs 2011 Mustang. If he won't let you get a V6 Camaro, but will let you get a GT, then there's no logic. But if he won't let you get an SS, but will allow you to get a 2010 or older GT, then the logic is behind the horsepower (which still almost doesn't make sense when you consider safety features). If you're talking V6 or SS Camaro vs 2011 5.0 GT, then God only knows where his logic has gone...

He might just be a Ford guy. What other cars does he drive?
No offense, but if my dad were seriously willing to buy me a new Mustang GT, I wouldn't be complaining about it.

I was in the same situation with my 1st car. I wanted to buy my cousin's 85 Z28 4spd that he had dropped a 454 in. My stepdad came and test drove it with me, broke it loose at 45, looked at me and said "you ain't gettin this car, u'll kill urself" So even tho I was paying for the vehicle I still couldn't get the one I wanted.

it would be a 2011 mustang, and im not complaining i just wanted to see if you guys thought it would make any sense. We test drove the v8 camaro he looked and said there would be no way i would get it. he drove the 2010 mustang and liked it and he usally drives benz

If your dad is willing to buy you a Mustang, take him up on his offer. Not sure of his logic - did you ask him? You probably still live at home - so it's dad's house, dad's rules. If he will let you get the Pony - take it. You will have other opportunities to trade/buy another car - it's just a car...
