Any Luck Selling?

So I've posted my car on craigslist constantly for about two months now. It's been on ebay as a "buy it now or best offer" for about one month. Between the two, I've only had one single offer, and it was from a dealership that was probably more of a sales ploy than anything else. I also listed it car ('10 2LT) as a traditional auction, but it topped out at $16,100.

Is anyone else having this much trouble selling their Camaros? There seems to be no interest at all. When I do list it, I list it with plenty of nice clear pictures. And the car is in excellent condition with low miles. It is a manual, but these are sports cars, being a stick can't be that much of a negative feature. The book value of this car is a little over $24,000.

If you have sold a Camaro recently, especially a 2010, can you post details on your car and the price you got for it?

Seems like your having some ad luck. It is a hard market and people like to buy from dealers. Try to find an auto broker around you and let them try to sell it for you.

P.S. I just looked on kbb.com and the private party price on a 2010 LT is $18,715.

Not sure how you got to that. I just typed it in on kbb.com, including all my 2LT options and milage, and got $23,730.

Hmmmm your dealership must not have been paying attention, I wish I could find one like that! I asked my dealer about buying my 2010 outright (new car is a lease) but he said the best he could do is $19k

The dealership paid attention. They took a mint condition 2010 camaro that was tastefully modified in on trade hoping for a quick turn around. Camaros are holding their values exceptionally well in my area with many used ones still being listed close to msrp and dealers asking for markups on new ones. However it seems like the market has changed dramatically in the past few months with many dealers having problems moving "camaro like stock".

Know how to list the car. Most sellers suck the majority of equity out of the vehicle . Leave some values on the table for the buyers . Modded vehicles take huge losses!! Research Vehicles like yours , compare and list it much lower than others. Simple economics!!

I was hoping to get around $23K.
My car is low milage and about as mint as a 3 year old car can be. So $1000 below book is ok by me.

It's a real competive market at the moment . These cars are plentiful and there just isn't enough demand to get what you really want for it . You maybe overpricing it to much in the private sale market. Try 21,500

Its a 10, every year had more upgrades. 2ss' go for 25kish around here, private party. Remember dealers can ask for more because they have a name and a business behind it. Keep in mind financing as well, you cant provide an all in one purchase like a dealer can. Your best bet is to get the car to carmax and see what they offer you. Usually you can do well through them or get just a little more private party. Not to be rude but the market is flooded with 10s. They have been out 4 years and most people are done leasing and nearing the end of financing so its a competitive market.
