What would happen if...
So I got in an argument with a fellow camaro owner who suggested I simply cut off what he pointed out was my intake silencer, suggesting that it would improve sound in the exhaust...
Whats the verdict? Note: Not my engine bay, snagged this photo from google

well, how well something sounds is a matter of your own determination. use some duct tape or something to block it off and see if there is a difference in exhaust sound. but i dont believe that deleting the silencer will change the exhaust sound. it may add a bit of some low pitch rasp, which is a unique sound.
also, i believe that part is there to stabilize the intake air pressure, i.e. to prevent the car from getting air hungry or suppressing pressure surges while wide open throttling |

Did a search for both "silencer" and "silencer delete" and got nothing

Modifying (or replacing) the air intake does not change the exhaust note...at all. People mistake the added intake noise as an increase in exhaust sound. The added intake noise, however, does sound kinda cool.
Like when we used to flip the air cleaner lids upside down on our old Chevys.
