I only use the touch less at college when I'm desperate...

...I don't see any problems.

I think most of you guys are talking about using one like this. I've used one like this forever, and I've never had any problems.

I use car washes all the time between wax and detail jobs. never noticed anything and they keep the car looking clean when I dont have time to do it. some people are just to uptight but its your car clean how you want to but I would love free car washes for a year

I use a touchless to get the dust and such off. It's a nice option with a black car. Can't eally spend 2 hours a day hand washing lol.

There are a couple of touchless washes (no attendants to scratch your paint) around here I trust. One of them originally broke on my car and the guy paid for my damage and bought himself a NEW car wash setup. I keep Lucas Speed Wax in the trunk along with my waffle-weave towels to dry - no problems. I live on a dirt road so even if I do the detail at home I'm dusted by the time I get 1/4 mile from home.
I'd keep those free washes and take advantage of them as long as it's truly "touchless".

In the few times where I decided to go to the car wash when time was tight, I was never satisfied with the outcome, traditional or touchless washes. Doing it yourself is much more rewarding. I love to feel the curves of her body lines, knowing I will be alot more thorough than any machine would be.

Well, I finally made it over to check out the car wash over the long weekend. I actually got to meet the owner and we walked me through the car wash and showed me everything about it. He is a detail shop and this is his first car wash. It is completely touchless. You pull in and park. Then the water spouts move around the car. He showed me all of the chemicals as well and they are all top end name brand. He is not using any generic stuff. I think I am going to go ahead and try them for a few washes. Also on Wed and Sat he will have people on hand to dry the vehicles and provide full service interior and exterior car washing. So those will be the days I go.

It did seem like he has a pretty high end client base as he was working on a BMW, an Audi, and even had a Corvette waiting to be picked up.

this sounds good...I would use it with one twist - 90% of the swirls come from the towels they use to dry. So take it home wet, shoot it with a quick hose and dry it with Duragloss Aquawax and a couple clean microfiber towels....instant shine and great protection.

.
I would definitely not do that. not only (as the above poster mentioned) are cheap low quality drying towels the cause of a lot of swirls, but those touch less washes leave some dirt on the vehicle. when they dry it, that dirt will scratch and swirl your car as they dry and push it into your clear coat.. junkman has some videos about that, I'd watch those before you take your car.
