Considering this guy joined the forum a year ago, was he a sleeper cell until now? I was looking up posts by him and are all similar to the bugs in his nav.

That being said, what dealer in their right mind would request a 2014 vin from you, there are a ton of vins online from dealerships. So a VIN itself is not some all revealing secret squirrel, however I'd advise against passing it out...

sorry OP but doubt you'll get much help here.

Easy-ish, they would still need to program the chip to match the ECU and disable OnStar.

But yea, as I said before, VINs aren't just handed out to strangers despite how easy they are to locate on a car.

That probably won't even work anyway.

Has anyone successfully transplanted a mylink yet?

Yes. Gen5DIY/GTPPrix, and Autotechspa and DWALEX

I have a 2014 mylink nav unit in my 2011. (Gen5DIY/GTPPrix)

A 2014 VIN was not needed for programming. My unit is programmed to my VIN my VIN belongs to the 2011 Model Year.

yes u are correct I just had my tech buddy last week, try to unlock the mylink I installed with gen5diy harness he got it to work with a 2014 vin that had mylink as the radio is 2014 not 2013 it worked for a couple days all functions, then the sound died when I paired my iPhone everything else still works just no sound, no door chimes, or any other sound , so I wanted a for sure vin with mylink that a gen5 member could verify
figured it would be easier than the B.S I got here

Honestly though You can't ask for a Vin on here and expect someone to give it to you

On another note, someone give me your plate number and address. I need it.

Just use ebay or any of the other car sites that list the vin.
Give that to your dealer guy and have him check the option codes.

It is that simple.

Wow a whole 30 seconds, but get with Gen5DIY anyway
