Because Oshawa build quality is the BEST GM has.
Fact, not opinion!

Edit, scroll down to see just some of the awards the plant has earned.

Because jobs are now our #1 export

The guys in Oshawa do an amazing job. American workers could do the same, but culturally speaking, it's all the same a few miles north in Canada.

Why don't we just get this overwith and annex Canada as our 51st state already?!!!

Flame on!

GM still ows $215,000,000. to the Quebec Government even though they closed down the Ste-Thérese plant where previous Camaros where built. Yes it's a can of worm...

Canada is deeply integrated into the American car industry. The collective bargaining agreements with organized labor fully cover workers on both sides of the northern border.

If you were to be taken there, blind folded, it would take you a while to figure out you weren't in the USA... (Except in the eastern province of Québec où le français se parle.)

This is not news, the Gen 5 has always been built in Canada, the original expected build location was Canada. Why is this some surprising fact now years later? This is not some great revelation.
