How do you clean your engine?

Just curious, what is your personal method for cleaning underneath the hood.

1. What cleaner do you use?
2. Engine hot or cold?
3. Car wash drive by?

I want to keep it as clean as the outside of my car.

Rag & water....

I have just been wiping mine down with a damp rag every few weeks. I am down here in Little Rock and we haven't seen rain in a while so the engine bay has gotten kind of dusty lately. You could probably hit the engine bay with water from a spray mist bottle and then just wipe it down good with a microfiber towel. I wouldn't do much more than that unless it's really dirty under there.

water and a microfiber cloth. My car rarely sees soap.

My engine bay looks nicer now than when it was delivered.

If mine gets real dirty i will spray it down with some degreaser or leave on cleaner. Then i use the hose with low preasure and rinse it off works really good.

I wash mine in the car wash. I try not to blow the pressure directly on any electrical connections, but I have done this to my last several vehicles with no problems.

awsome cleaner with a 50/50 water mix, microfiber cleaning cloth. hose off, towel dry and treat with Adams SuperVRT. And you should allways clean your motor when cold.

Adam's all purpose cleaner, boars hair brush and water. Cold engine. Then some VRT to dress it up and it looks like a brand new engine!

I just try to keep mine out of the dirt and dust it as needed. Its kind of like keeping your wheels clean. You not going to make stock shiney the most you can hope for is to keep it clean!

Open the hood of your car....man it's DIRTY in there.

I have neglected my car engine, but it's time for a cleaning. She needs it.

With the engine warm spray with degreeser and wait 15 min. then rinse it,if the motor is really grimey repeat till clean then when dry hit the high spots with a silicone spray and let dry, this will make it easier to keep it clean.
