Sorry to miss the main point of this thread here, but I can't believe you're not fuming over having to pay for something you didn't ask for!! No way in hell I'd have payed for that whether I liked it or not. John L Sullivan is quickly building up one of the worst reputations on this forum for tacking on stuff people don't want.

[QUOTE=pruettfan;643912]Sorry to hear about your problems. I have heard nothing but bad about John L Sullivan. They add a bunch of stuff to the cars that are ordered by customers without their permission so they can charge them for this crap.

That's f'd up..they think the customer will decline so they can sell to another at inflated prices? F'em..

I hope the Camaro doesn't use the same ignition cylinder parts as the GTO. Lotta GTO owners (including me once) have problems with the ignition jamming up.

Ignition Key Problem Fixed

The Parts Manager at John L. Sullivan really went to bat for me and was able to track down The Ignition Part needed to repair my 2SS. My 2010 2SS is now fixed and running fine. The key comes out and goes in with no problem. After more than a week in the shop, I am now driving my Camaro again.

Another reason they should have considered keyless start/stop... I really do enjoy not having to take my key out of my pocket to get in the car or start it up...

I'd rather have a traditional key over the pushbutton start that so many cars have now. Look at the C6; it's common for the start button to break and fall into the dash. Plus all the reception issues of whether or not the car is detecting the fob when the start attempt is made.

Of course, my concern over pushbutton start being unreliable is moot if GM doesn't do a good job with the traditional key/ignition setup. The late-model GTO in particular is prone to problems with the ignition.

Sorry to hear you have the same problem with the key stuck in the Ignition. At Least the Camaro is right there at the dealer where they can fix it. Hopefully by now they meaning dealers and GM realize there are possible problems with the Ignition Lock and will have replacement parts available from the factory and/or the supplier and they can Fedex them overnight to the dealer for a quick fix. Hang in there once the problem is fixed you will enjoy driving your Camaro.

Yesterday I experienced this with my manual 2SS/RS. I inserted the key to start the car and the ignition would not turn, I was unable to start it. I kept turning the steering wheel hoping it was not locked and finally my car started. Has anyone else had the same experience? I drove the car all day shutting it off and turn it on and no problem after that.
I am very happy with my car just hope this problem does not happen again.
