It's a GM planted thread to promote Gen6 to Gen5 owners and lesser warranties.
Be careful!

Guys, I have no allegiance to GM, Ford, Chrysler or anyone else. Just thought that there might be some interest in hearing how the 2016 Camaro ran. If you want to hear a few negatives, well:

1. The interior is not as attractive in my opinion, especially dash panel.
2. It is a smaller car, the driver's seat would not go as far back as on my Gen.5, compromising comfort to some degree.
3. Visibility out of back quarter/rear window not as good.

Overall, I would not trade my Gen.5 for it. But, the performance of the V6 was impressive, as it should be. Higher horsepower (335) and less weight (about 400 lbs.).

I've said it previously & I'll mention it again...

The 6th generation is a great product, but it's simply not what I prefer.

Hmmmmmm its possiable. Here is my post from the missing thread. From what I can remember. Here is goes.

IMO GM took a step backwards with the 2016 models. They hit the ball out of the park with the 2010,2011,2012,2013,2014 and 2015 Camaro models. I love the look from 1967,1968,1969-----2010 and so on. When I see the 2016 on the road. I keep thinking an import car. Then when up close Im like really. They lost there "Mojo". But hey this is my opinion. Also I copied this thread to my phone. Lets see if it last longer than the original.

Yeah, I love my 2016, especially the V6. It's a daily driver back and forth to work for me. Gets up and goes when I want, and still gets 32 mpg if I treat it right. It's got all the Mojo I need!!

I feel we're seeing a close to production version of the new Z/28.

Now I have to trade in my L99 because the 2016 v6 feels almost the same........

I would've been all over a 1970 1/2 SS/RS style model!

Is the performance really that impressive though? It seems most are getting low to mid 5's from 0-60, but there are a few (mostly stock) 5th gen LFX owners reporting almost the same times on the V6 LFX board.

I do agree with you on the dash panel. They made the driver's binnacle way too big and then sloped the passenger side of the dash down to accentuate the smallness of the interior. I also don't like the extra sheetmetal above the rear wheel wells and the dropped shoulder/hip belt line.

I still think if GM tried to emulate the 2nd gen F-body with the 6th gen they would have had another smash hit on their hands like they did with the 5th gen.. Unfortunately, they played it too safe by making it look like a slightly revised, but smaller 5th gen and I think current sales are reflecting that.
