Ain't nothing personal, just saying. You wont see the difference in the real world. Just lose 5 lbs somewhere else and don't worry about it.

But you are not saying a 12.0 wouldn't benefit from ditching 65 lb wheels/tires on each corner and going to say 35 lb ones are you?

Certainly not. Lighter is better, what I'm saying is dont get caught up on brand x being a pound heavier/lighter then brand Y (and dont put a 15 pound cast wheel on the front of a 4000 pound car).

I see what your saying with the car weight on a gravity cast wheel. It could possibly cause a problem. Those wheels are on a ton of imports with no problems that I know of but then again those cars don't weigh what ours do. I edited my recommendation just in case.

hey...225/60...lightest options I have found thus far:

General Altimax HP...24.3lbs per local dealer, verifed
Firestone FR710...25lbs per tire rack (but, found a conflicting weight local that these are 27lbs)

tsw nurburgring is 18.6 lbs in 18x8
weld 18x6 rts is 15lbs
forgestar F14 18x8.8 is 17.6lbs
Racestar 18x5 is 18lbs
ccw c2k 18x6 is 16lbs, classic adds another 2lbs or so.

good question...I can't find the M&H bias play weights. I edited my last post to add wheel weights for 18" front wheel options.

If your going to spend the money on Weld or CCW then I would recommend the 17 x 7" or 17 x 6" as those wheels should be lighter than the 18" and cost less. You could then run a General 225/65R17 102H which is 25lbs. That 17" wheel and tire combo should be less expensive and lighter than a 18" set. Also, I don't think a 225/60R18 would fit well on a Racestar 18x5"

I'm just sharing info. I plan to do the 225 on my 8" nurburgrings. If I was doing a 17 I would use bias plys out front really drop weight.
