I brought my car to the dealer with a copy of the invoice from brucedd. The service guy was really cool and ordered the part for me. Now we play the waiting game. :emoticon7:

Mine used to say "ZL 1" now it says "_L 1"

Off to my bowtie dealer for a replacement panel tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up brucedd.

It amazes me that the emblem peeling off was never caught in testing. Just crazy. At least there is a nice fix for it.

It sliced my hand open pretty good when I was just wiping it down with a microfiber towel.

The ones in my posted pics in this thread are absolutely NOT stickers. The ones on the dash panel they removed were stickers.

I suppose the point is they look the same, but the emblem is integrated and smooth.

It is great your dealership was able to order this for you and take great care of you! Please let us know how the whole process goes!

I hope he has as good an experience as I did. I love the new panel, and honestly, was a little embarrased of the first one, as the stickers were really quite cheezy. Kudos to Chevy for making this quality improvement upgrade available!

(Now for the Dealer Service Stage II mods w/Warranty please!)

I'm going in Monday for my fix. Hopefully it turns out just as good.

Got my dashboard emblem fixed. It is definitely a lot nicer than the old one. The emblem is embedded into the dash. The one thing that irks me a bit is that I checked my mileage when I dropped the car off (341) and when I picked up my car it had (345). I don't know if I'm too happy about that.

Picked my ZL 1 up today after the dealer replaced the dash trim piece. They used the PN shown earlier in this thread to order the part and wonder of wonders, they got the replacement and it's exactly like the old part with a D*mn cheap decal. No doubt the decal will peel just like the original. A minor item, but I was hoping for the new part. Second gripe, my car came back with 4 miles added to it and I'm pissed about that since I specifically told the service manger not to let this happen.

Cheers - Boyd

Send it back and tell them to order the right part. You will probably have the same issue as the old one. It is just a matter of time. The logo should be integrated into the dash. As for the miles...I understand what you feel there.

FYI... I got 2012 #199. Early run. It is the "inlaid" one and no chance of peeling.

Roger that. Before I left the dealership, I had them reorder again. I'm not sure what's going on at the warehouse level if both versions are being stocked under the same PN.

Regards the mileage, I have been religously living with the 1500 mile break-in restrictions and only hope the 4 miles didn't include rev limiter activations. Luckily I have two other Chevy dealers to try before I baby sit my ZL with a side arm while it's in for service/repair.

Cheers - Boyd
