Definetely thinking about buying one, just trying to decide which. If only one of them would go on sale.....

The Barton is the best for the dollar out there. I don't think you will find a cheaper shifter for the quality you get. I have installed others in my coupe and none of these are as short as the Barton or feel as good going through the shifts.
You won't be sorry !

I took delivery of my Camaro on Friday 4/22/11, ordered a Barton STS Monday night, and UPS says it will be here this afternoon. Was going to go with a more classic name brand, but after reading this forum all last weekend, with all the positive comments on Barton's Shifter, and customer service, I changed my mind and ordered Barton's....Thanks to all that posted reviews, comments, and pictures of this product....Can't wait to install mine

Well, 156 miles on my new Camaro and I'm tearing things apart... installed my new Barton shifter.... A bit more involved on a V6 with the centering springs.... sure takes more time than the SS guys claimed it took. Still, it is well worth it, hard to believe that a shifter could make so much of a difference. I have driven another 150 miles since installation, and just plain love it. There is absolutely no noise coming thru this shifter, I know some have complained about this from other short throws. You guys that are on the fence, trying to decide... The Barton STS is One Super Nice Unit.

Its on!!!!! Looks great and will post pics once I figure out how the f*** to resize the dang things. Thanks for the detailed instructions, went on fairly easy, but that dust boot is a B****. Thank goodness my local club president Jlugo helped out, he did most of the work, ok almost all of it.
But I love the feel and it is like driving a new car. Yellow ball looks killer in there. |

I installed mine last weekend... I didn't have a problem with the boot underneath, but getting the new shifter back up into place was a really tight fit! Maybe I should have greased it more than I did or something. I love this shifter! No vibration at all...

For those who have installed the flat stick how much higher does it sit compared to the stock knob? It's hard to tell from the pictures and no one has really answered that question in the threat yet.

So I have one of the earlier models. Are you able to adjust the height or is it one standard height.Being adjustable was the main reason I swapped it out after I had installed the Hurst.

I've got mine set all the way down, and it really doesn't feel much different from the stock height... maybe slightly higher but it's pretty close.

I installed my shifter today and as others have said , the V6 install is a BIIZZNIITCH, i had to go get longer screws to thread in the unit and then get someone to pull while i push from the bottom, then screw the originals in... it was a pain.... i like the feel , but im getting that vibration and that stupid bee sound as someone mentioned when im really high in the RPMs like 6000 and higher... any suggestions... im going to check the dust boot again tomorrow but im pretty sure its on there tight, tried calling for help as im in Canada, but i couldnt get through to the big guy for some help :P
i have the flat stick with the white knob looks nice and shifts great just a little worried about the noise at high rpms... Help! :P
