OK- we need a list of who is coming from where (what approach route).

Throughout this thread, we have talked about having two caravans from the US-from the West and from the South (and Southeast)- meet somewhere and become one long one for the final drive to Oshawa. Please list your anticipated route and I will edit it into this post so we can see if we can get everyone together for the ride.

I plan on entering Canada via the Rainbow Bridge (Niagara Falls,NY) but I could switch if it got more cars together coming over the Peace Bridge or Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. Please list your "main" approach routes in the sequence you will follow. Also, please list total number attending.

Example: from Cincinnati,OH:
John Smith- 2 (people attending) (IOM 2SS)-> I-71/I-271/I-90/I-190/Peace Bridge/QEW/401

**should be easy to page back and find this post- I waited until it would be the first post on a new page- page 10, 1st post

Attendee list and driving route:

trm0002 Trent-2 (RJT 2SS)-> I-90 / I-190 / Rainbow Bridge / 420 / QEW / 401
trsc1970 tim-2 (IOM SS) frederick md.../ Rainbow Bridge / 420 / QEW / 401
2010CamaroJ (IOM 2SS) -> I-90 / I-190 / Rainbow Bridge / 420 / QEW / 401

Angelina (and caravan) (IOM 2SS) Windsor / 401

2nd Angelina caravan Sarnia / 402 / 401
jxmot-1 (CGM 2LT/RS)-> I-94 / I-90 / I-69 /Blue Water Bridge (Sarnia) / 402 / 401

And just to add some more geography tidbits for todays class , Oshawa is approx 30 miles east of Toronto on the North Shore of Lake Ontario. Its home to GM Canada with its Canadian HQ just east of the plant also on the North shore of the lake. We build both the new 2010 Camaro and the Chev Impala. The main highway is the 401 which runs both west/east from Windsor Ontario/Michigan USA to Cornwall Ontario at the Quebec border.

And before anyone asks ... there will be no SNOW on the ground here on Oct 2nd ! so don't worry about putting on snowtires or packing a Snowmobile suit Our weather will be relativity the same as Northern Pennsylvania , Western New York , & Northeast Ohio . The leaves will just be turning colours.

If Niagara Falls -NY side- ends up being the meeting place for cars from "this" direction, I suggest we all meet at the Seneca-Niagara Casino parking lot. You can pretty much see the Rainbow bridge from it. As far as directions from there, follow me

Seriously, just so you have it on paper, cross the Rainbow Bridge and follow the signs for the QEW (highway 420 takes you to it). QEW to the 427 (exit 139) to the 401, east on the 401 for roughly 30 miles then a couple turns off that in Oshawa. Not sure exactly where around the plant (which side) is the final destination so I can't tell you which exit at this point. All in all, roughly 130 miles from the bridge.

Anyone traveling north from the central NJ, NY area? I would like to attend but dont think I will have my car in time. If I cant hitch a ride maybe I will just fly there and back to save time.

Thanks-

Routes

As far as I know there are two group headed from Michigan.

One across at Windsor and one across at Sarnia. We intend to meet up near London and continue the rest of the way together.

from Chicago:
jxmot-1 (CGM 2LT/RS)->I-94/I-90/I-69/Blue Water Bridge/402/401

At least that's the plan. I might take some scenic detours along the way. Right now I'm planning on heading out on the 1st and arriving that night. Not sure if I can hang around on the 3rd just yet.

It's with a heavy heart, that I must say, that I can not attend on October 2nd. The pretty lady and I already have plans for that day (in fact for that weekend). I sure hope everyone has a great time.

Thanks and enjoy

Understandable - we'll do the best we can to represent!
