Not sure it's a feature but, last night I noticed for the first time that when you have your turn signal on, the interior dome light pulses when turned on, kinda like your house lights dim slightly when you turn the vacuum on. Does this make sense? I think it's more of a wiring issue.

The horn beeb is due to the interface with the security system, horn beep tells you everything is closed and locked. The security system will engage! If the window is open the security system will not arm because the ECM detected the opened window! This is when you really should go back to the car and check it out. You really do not want somebody to even attempt to steal it!!

Jstt knowing that the security system is working and armed is enough to keep most thiefs away!

You can actually set the horn to beep when you lock the doors through the radio interface.

The open window is an interesting point. My dome light stays on for 10 minutes if I park the car with the window down and I leave the door open after parking it for more than a minute. What is the ECM? Does the window being open have any bearing on the ECM thinking that the door might still be open even though it's closed?

I accidentally found out that when you start the car you just need to turn the key for like half of a second for the engine to start. You don't need to hold the key in a turned position until the engine has started. :-)

Ok, I don't use the phone features in the car from the stereo, I just use my stored name tags or hit a speed dial from my cell. Today, I was playing with the stereo and hit the phone button. It showed my cell that was connected via Bluetooth - which I knew. When I selected it, it brought up a menu of all numbers, some characters and a few other controls - like Call...I didn't know you could punch in a telephone number from the radio controls and hit dial!

I would NOT recommend this while driving however, as you need to scroll, select, scroll, select each number. But it was cool! And I've Read the manual! Well, a long time ago

It won't let you access the dial menu while driving anyways.

  • If you do not have the Spare Tire Option... YOU GET NO JACK OR TIRE IRON!!!
    • I when to put on my snow tires and found no jack or tire iron.
    • Tried to use the jack from our Suburban, wrong type and too tall.
    • Saved by our Toyota Rav4!! Used the jack an tire iron from that to put on my snow tires.
  • The Camaro body slopes down, back to front. Found that when I pulled the jack out from the rear, and went to slide it under the front, it would not go until I cranked it down some more.
  • The Rear Defroster will automatically turn on when you remote start your car below ~40 degrees.

I have found that if I leave the volume turned up on the radio (above 10) when I turn the car off, when I restart the car the volume automatically resets to the setting of 10. If it is below 10 it will stay at that level.

There's a setting in the radio menus that allows you to change the maximum start-up menu!

you can set the maximum volume when the car starts, 10 is the default i believe.
