Same thing happened to me on my first Camaro. Bought an '11 2SS convertible with automatic and decided after 8 months what I really wanted was the manual. The same dealer had a 2012 2SS convertible the same color except with a manual transmission sitting on the lot. I got enough in trade to pay off the loan on the '11 plus a little extra and started a new loan on the '12. After 8 months it ended up costing me about 13K to make the switch so be prepared to take a good hit if you do decide to trade for a manual.

Must be nice to own a new Camaro every year.

And you're right. It's not even about "more power" or any of that... Sticks are just so much more engaging and fun to drive. I' say do it... sure it'll cost you a bit to upgrade, but you'll never regret it. All Camaros should have 3 pedals.

A manual in any car is more fun to drive and play around with in my opinion. It keeps you busy and gives you something to do like drop it into 3rd on the freeway and hammer down.

You can explore it but I would guess you will lose a couple of grand on this trade. Manuals are cheaper then automatics though so you might be able to offset that loss a little bit. If that is worth it to you then so be it.

Have you played around with the paddle shifters at all? Those are pretty useful...

I agree 100%, that's why I have an automatic! To each his own.

It has been nice actually. Although it was never my intent to own 3 new Camaros in a 2 year span. Circumstances just worked out that way and the same bank has been more than happy to approve a higher loan amount each time.

I'm pretty confident the ZL1 won't be on the trading block next year. Not a track person so I don't see a Z/28 in my future and the design changes for the 2014 model year haven't sparked much excitement for me.
