OEM Bolt Pattern - set the record straight!

So I've been looking into adding spacers... I've already read all the "stigma" these things get but I have spacers on my M3 and it performs beautify. That said, I'm looking at two brands, H&R and Eibach.

H&R says the 2010-2012 Camaro uses 5x120. However, the Eibach equivalent part number that fits the same car/year states the bolt pattern is 5x120.65

What gives? Who is right?

I have an e92 M3. It's 414bhp V8 and comparatively accelerates quicker than the camaro due to the short geared 6speed tranny. Ironically, I get better gas mileage from the Camaro. From a weight standpiont, yes, I think the Camaro is heavier...

aaaahhh! Didn't even think of that... joke is on me. It just puzzled me that Eibach would advertise theirs for the 2010-2012 Camaro being that theirs is 5x120.65

5x120 is correct but typically the holes are slightly oversized on spacers so the extra .65mm probably still fits. There are plenty of drag racers running 5 x 120.65 (5x4.75) wheels on their cars without issue. Is it the right thing to do? No, but it is so close that they still bolt up. 5 lug patterns are measured criss-cross so when you think about it that means that the stud is only off by .325 mm each, not very much.



As for spacers, they are not the best idea, especially on a heavy car, but consider that the 5th gen has huge 14mm studs and it doesn't seem as bad. Before the aftermarket wheel companies came out with drag wheels, everyone was running OE Z06 wheels with a spacer. We ran 10.50's all year long with this setup and had no issues whatsoever. We don't recommend it but there are a lot of people already doing it without issue, just stay conservative on the thickness and you will probably be fine.

That car is better that the Camaro. I had a 2009 dct m3, I now gave a 2013 ZL1. I was expecting a performance improvement with 580 HP. But they felt the same . I looked it up, MP3 has same 0 to 60, same 1/4 mile, same top speed, and that dct was godly. So an e92 MP3 would make short work of an as Camaro with ease (on the street)

100 percent 5x120mm !!!measured for myself before I made a pair of 5x5 to5x120mm by 37mm thick hub centric to wheel centric adapters to put these widened to 10-1/2 rears on my 1990 Chevrolet truck!!!

Its 5x120 but I am sure the Eibach ones will work as well. They probably designed them that way. H&R Spacers have had a long time excellent reputation for quality. I would go with them.
