isn't 426 enough? I mean ... isn't 300 enough ?

I don't understand why people "mod" , 426 HP in the United States in ridcliousley fast , so I ask you all ... why more ? Does it make you feel more manley ?

Anyone keeping the SS stock ?

PS: if you live near the authoban this does not apply.

I'll be keeping the SS stock. All I'm adding performance wise is an exhaust and longtube headers, but that's to change the sound, not the HP. The HP boost I guess will just be a plus.

This will be the fastest car I've ever driven so I am sure 426 HP will be plenty.

Because we are men. That's the simplest explanation I can come up with.

Everyone has an opinion on stock or modified and we should respect that. I guess we do things because we can...this is America...at least for now! I personally will modify mine. Back in the day when the 427 was king many modified these engines to their desires...others kept them stock.

I personally am keeping it stock, however it significantly helps that I have a classic car to work on and mod.

If you are into cars its just fun to take it apart, tinker with it, make it go faster. Its impossible to explain why, its like asking the guy next door why he likes to collect stamps... he doesn't know he just does. Thats why it a hobby.

I think for most it falls under the category of making the car their own and having their car stand out from the crowd. Then there are the select few that actually will use it as a drag car or what not on weekends. The last small percentage are the ones with a small penis.....

LOL, ok ok i don't actually know about that last bit. But seriously though I think the reason really does fall under those first two categories.

I will not be modding my engine in any aggresive way but I probably will put on a GMPP air in take after the DYNO's come out. In most casses not only will increased air flow to the engine not only free up some spare HP but it will actually increase your gas millage in NORMAL driving conditions, like to and from work.

There is one other category I just thought of. The person who is just trying to get that mean sound come from their engine every time you hit the petal. This person doesn't really care about the HP increase at all and probably wont even get the tune but for them long backs and maybe even an air intakes are a must!

I believe in staying stock ,but Im not against a cold air box because it is better for your engine and it can increase MPG.Sometimes an exhaust can help your engine breath better as well, increasing MPG.
