BIG problem after Maggie install....

I bought a used Maggie from a shop and had them install it with my Apex catch can. The can routing looked funky to me from the start. I picked the car up Thursday.

On my way home I noticed a few puffs of smoke out the tailpipe. I called the shop and they said not to worry about it, it was probably running a little rich.

I've driven the car for 2 days but haven't gotten on it yet. This morning I remote started it and it ran for 30 seconds or so then I heard 2 pops and smoke started bellowing out of the tailpipes. It smelled like oil.

it isn't smoking as bad at idle but it starts blowing if I let it idle.

What. The. ****.

While I have no experience with superchargers, that car needs to go to the shop.

What color was the smoke? If it was black, that's too rich. If the smoke was white to slight blueish that's oil. Smoke color should let you know where to begin figuring it out.

Pull the plugs and see. Run a compression test on it and check leak down.

Check the catch can plumbing. There was a guy at the C5Fest III that put his car on the dyno and had a similar reaction. Was simple plumbing reroute. Sure looked terminal when it happened.

If you are dumping oil into the intake/blower then it will smoke like crazy. So either you are doing that or a piston/etc let go.

I had same problem,,,, can was hooked up right,,, but I needed to install a check valve on the line from the blower to the catch can so it couldn't suck the oil in

pop off the oil fill cap. if it is puffing smoke heavily from there its not good. otherwise if its not you probably just oil fouled a plug.

They had it:

Drivers rear valve cover port to top inlet of catch can

Brake booster hose to rear-most maggie nipple

Bottom of catch can outlet to intake elbow

Passenger side valve cover to front-most Maggie nipple

Here is a plug I just pulled from the drivers side

I can tell u how my catch can is set up and I have had no issues with it this his how I was told to do it by several I have the driver side vale cover port going to the inlet on my catch can (rx can) then I have the outlet of the catch can going to the rear barb on the Maggie up by the throttle body then I have a breather cap on my oil fill that has a tube going to the cold air intake and the barb on the front passengers side of the valve cover is capped and not used depending on your can it could be differt on the passengers side

I think you need to re-route your hoses. The one for the brake booster is fine where it is. I'd switch the passenger side valve cover hose to the intake elbow, and switch the catch can outlet to the front nipple on the Maggie.
