Extended Warranty on 2012
Hey guys
Im new to the forum and have a 2012 on order. The car will not be a daily driver, so my question is....Is it worth it on a 2ss LS3 car to get an extended warranty. I usually do get one on other cars, but seeing that I wont be driving the car a whole hell of a lot and it comes with a 5 year 100,000 mile engine warranty, is it going to be a waste? I wanted to see what everyone else thought, maybe there are certain issues with these things that might make it worth it a few years down the road. Thanks |

If you're not driving it all that much than you aren't going to find as many problems as someone that drives it daily would. That being said the issues could slowly creep up like you said and once your warranty is up your screwed unless you want to pay to get it fixed.
I was suckered in to the plan but now I realize I will probably need it down the road, also I don't believe the extended warranty covers the powertrain. |

The car already comes with a 5 yr/100,000 mile warranty on the drive train, so the "extended warranty" is to extend the other stuff to 100,000 miles.
Honestly, I have never had a problem with the "other stuff" on GM cars, until after 100,000 miles. For example, the AC on two of them conked out at over 100,000 miles. In hind site on 6 other GM cars, it would have been a complete waste of money, so I didn't get it for the Camaro. |

My Camaro came with 3 years full with 5 years on the power train so I bought three more years and now I have six years covered fully and 8 years on the power train. The best $1750 CAD I've spent i think. Shaun

as always, do you think GM would offer it to you if they weren't making money on it?
Do you plan to do any mods? What happens to the extended warranty if you do?
