If you have the stock pirelli's on the car, weight is not the issue, tire compound for the cold is. You would be much better with a tire meant for cold roads. Either that or wait or trailer it. Just my .02

I put 140 in mine, used the same sand bags in my mustang GT, seems like a good weight, I think 600 would be overkill.

I've got a 50lb sand bag in case i get stuck, but otherwise, so long as you've got good tires (I'm running Pirelli Scorpions) and a little experience in the snow you'll be fine. The car is well balanced as is.

Trust me, I live in the snow belt surrounded by ski places etc... I get a lot of the white stuff! 2nd gear starts and keeping your RPM low will help.

BTW, I realize V6 to V8 is a different beast, but the principles of snow driving are the same.

Any other suggestions also welcome.
Whoa, that is old school. This Camaro has good weight balance front and rear, the important thing is to have right tires. The tires that come on Camaros are strictly for summer. GET SOME SNO TIRES! You will love your car without sand bags anywhere except on your back porch!

I just use a 70# bag of sand in the trunk for snow on the road and it is just fine with my 19" all-seasons. All that weight in the trunk is way overkill!

Yeah without snow tires you'll be driving a heavy sled, sled will get u farther than the camaro will.
Just leave it till the weather allows you safely bring her home.

People say they drive their Camaro's in snow, but I don't understand how they do it. I drive mine in the winter, but only when the roads are clear and dry. I was out yesterday, a freak snow storm started and before I made it home there was a inch of snow on the road.

That was one scarey ride. A couple times the anti-lock brakes applied at intersections, taking off from intersections was difficult without spinning the tires, turning corners was difficult. Getting home meant taking some country roads, top speeds 30 to 40mph.

My advice, ask them if you can leave it until ther storm is over and the roads are clear, or rent a trailer.
