Unfortunately, this might be the fate of ALL car companies in the future. Lose all the fun cars and focus on being known as the cleanest "green" car company. The more hybrids and electric cars you build, the better chance of being successful. As a car enthusiast, I hope this doesn't become a trend in the auto industry.

That's what happens when a car company loses sight of it's demographic and overprices it product. The older Evo's were sick, but the newer ones got too big, heavy, and expensive for their own good.

Sad end to a cool car. Taken out because the company wants a "green" image. Anyway you look at that it is a loss.

You nay-sayers are narrow-minded. The Evo X may not be your cup of tea, heck - I don't have one so it must not be mine either - nevertheless it should be respected by the auto enthusiast. This world needs more cars that were built for passion.

So yes - if a dying model is a "Corolla" - bring it with the indifference; but if the car is a performance car, we ought to all mourn this loss.

I'm not saying it isn't a good car, it's a great-performing car for the money. I'm just saying that Mitsubishi as a whole is getting left behind in the industry right now. If revamping their product lineup means having to let go of a certain product (that only sold 165 units last month), either forever or just for a short time, then they need to do what needs to be done.

My Dad bought one Asian car in his life. A Mitsubishi Galant, it was declared a lemon within the first year of owning it. One time he even lost power in the middle of an intersection and had to be towed out.

My dad will never buy Asian because of this. Grant it, I hear there are lemon Camaros, but I swear to you that Galant was the biggest POS. Water leaked in when it rained, in several places. It was so poorly built. This was a '96 model.

Mitsubishi is too small of a car company to have niche vehicles that don't align with their main portfolio. The less it shares in common with the rest of the cars, the more expensive it becomes. It makes total sense. The Evo wasn't crappy enough

Aside from the 370z, the Evo X was the only Japanese car I regarded with enough standing to consider when car shopping last year. The rally world will lose one of its champions.

Pretty sure your the only one that thinks that. The evo will outperform the camaro SS in every way possible. And get over 30 mpg on the highway. Yea. Its a 4 cylinder so it has that annoying exhaust note unless you put a ton of money into it. They can hit 9's on stock block.

My friends car.

Yea. 9s on stock internals and you say its junk?? The ricer has well over 500 passes on it and a couple sessions at the texas mile. PLUS its semi daily driver. Yea thats a pile isnt it??
